What Is The Bradford Music Collective?
The Bradford Music Collective is, as the title suggests a collective made up from promoters, managers and proprietors from a number of Bradford music related venues.
Our aim is to work together to give you an insight into all the different things that are going on right now in the culture rich and vibrant city of Bradford.
All too often, individual places and people have had a tendency to work separately from each other and sometimes end up pulling in too many different directions. It is difficult sometimes for the outsider to get a picture of just what is on offer without hearing so many subjective points of view. We all know that one place does not a scene make and so we would all like to present to you this overview of our city and all the different things it has to offer.
Most of the participating venues host live music to some degree but we also aim to cover places that have DJs, good jukeboxes or even quality piped music, where you can enjoy a drink with like minded people. We are also interested in hearing from promoters too. The website will be ever evolving so please do keep checking back and we shall endeavour to continue to make it as informative as possible. If you would like a link adding to our links page, then please feel free to get in touch and we'd be happy to oblige.
Participation in the collective is absolutely free but we please ask that you include the following words on your posters, flyers or even menus where possible:
"Member of the Bradford Music Collective -
www.bradford-music-collective.co.uk"
If we all do this, then it will hopefully increase exposure to everybody involved, which can only be a good thing.
Thankyou all for your interest and support!
Mission Statement
The mission of the Bradford Music Collective is...
"To collectively raise awareness and promote the musical culture of the city of Bradford to both the people of Bradford and to people from outside of the city.
To work together to deliver what the public would like to hear rather than impose arbitrary mainstream musical policies.
To cultivate and celebrate diversity - to be as inclusive as possible to as many different musical backgrounds and subcultures as possible and to encourage a safe and trouble free environment for all.
To encourage co-operation between venues regarding collaborative promotion and cross promotion. It is our firm belief that so much more can be achieved by working together."
